Journal of Transport Geography Becomes Official IGU Transport & Geography Commission Journal and IRC 2026 Abstract Reminder

Dear IGU Transport and Geography Commission members,

We are pleased to announce that the Journal of Transport Geography (JTG) is now the official journal of the IGU Transport and Geography Commission. The journal’s home page can be accessed here: https://www.sciencedirect.com/journal/journal-of-transport-geography.

We would also like to remind you that the abstract submission deadline for the IGU Regional Conference (IRC 2026) in Istanbul is Friday, 23 January 2026, at 23:59 Istanbul time (GMT+3). Abstracts must be submitted directly through the official conference portal: https://www.irc2026.org/en/ABSTRACT-SUBMISSION.html.

Submission Guidelines

  • Abstracts must be written in English and limited to 300 words, structured under the headings: Background/Hypothesis, Materials and Methods, Results, Conclusions.
  • The abstract title must be typed in UPPER CASE, clearly defining the topic without abbreviations.
  • Abstracts with an overly commercial focus will not be accepted.
  • Tables may be included, but only as images.
  • Each submission may list up to 10 authors, and the presenting author must be designated in the system.

Members submitting abstracts to sessions under the IGU Transport and Geography Commission are kindly asked to email the following information to the session convenors, while copying the Commission Chair, Vice-Chair, and Secretary:

  1. Title(s) of submission(s)
  2. Abstract(s)
  3. Author information
